I’m reading a lot of things these days, so here is an accounting of everything I’ve started and not yet finished thus far. I’m sure one of these days I’ll be doing some sort of challenge to finish plowing through all of these.
One of my current audio books is The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski. It is book three in The Winner’s Trilogy. I couldn’t get into the narrator when I listened to the first book, but eventually I really started to like her. My favorite part of her performance is the accent that she gives Kestrel. I am really close to the end of this trilogy!
I’m also currently making my way through the Bloody Jack series by L. A. Meyer on audiobook. I am now on book two, Curse of the Blue Tattoo. This summer has been making me want to read more and more about sailing and pirates and this is the perfect series to scratch that particular itch.
My pirate adventures are continuing with Pirate Heiress though I’m not enjoying this pirate-themed romance novel as much as I had hoped I would.
My husband and I are also listening to Caliban’s War by James S.A. Corey. While the first book started out slow but then quickly picked up speed, this one has been action-packed from the start, introducing lots of new characters to love. I can’t wait to finish listening to the series so that we can finally start watching the show based on the books.
Having encouraged my husband to listen to The Handmaid’s Tale, I’m now listening to it myself. It’s a re-read for me, and a difficult one at that, considering the current political climate in the United States.
I am a reviewer for OnlineBookClub and am currently reading Solaris Seethes, a sci fi/fantasy adventure by Janet McNulty. I can often be found live-tweeting my progress through this one.
As I’m contemplating a career change, I figured I’d read about the adventures of maritime archaeologists and get some inspiration. I picked up The Sea Hunters II by Clive Cussler from my local library. It’s a non fiction book detailing the efforts of the National Underwater Marine Agency to find shipwrecks.
I seem to have stalled out some on the Remnant Chronicles conclusion The Beauty of Darkness. I’m close to the end so hopefully I’ll be done with this one soon.
My other non fiction ventures include Packing for Mars by the amazing Mary Roach. I’ve been interested in space for as long as I can remember and while I may have set this one aside a while back, I’m really looking forward to finishing it.
I’m slowly but surely making my way through the Throne of Glass series and am currently on book four, Queen of Shadows. I got my copy of this book off of Book Outlet and it turned out to be a signed copy! Currently it’s on hold since I’m feeling a bit burnt out on the series.
